programming Kernel > 2M in flash memory
Hi list, I'm still playing with access RAM in 32-bit mode, most because I do don't want to halve the amount of RAM.. ;) I got very strange trouble on a pair of sim1 v1.3. I can program (write to flash memory) only a kernel made with minimal set of drivers, if I try to program one of the Debian EABI Kernel... more »

The very last hardware bug
The only unresolved hardware/software problem I know of with the Sim.One is that sometimes is locks solid on power-on, with the red LED lit constantly. The AN258 workround should detect this and toggle the reset line, but evidently doesn't work on any of the 4 sim.one's I have. Can anyone see the error in the circuit diagrams or track layouts?... more »

MDC/MDIO reading fails
Hi all, While checking the ep93xx-eth driver on the Sim.One board I have, I noticed a few problems: - it does not detect when the link status changes, so the link is always assumed to be up (no issue so far) - MDC/MDIO reads to the PHY chip are always failing, see the log attached (ep93xx-mdio-read-fails)... more »

Hi all! I've made a Debian squeeze base root filesystem for Sim.One. It works fine with the same kernel (thank heaven!) Those of you wanting to upgrade an existing installation ca do so with vi /etc/apt/sources.list ...ZZ apt-get update apt-get dist-upgrade The only bogey I hit was that, if you have certain packages... more »

FW: [linux-cirrus] Fwd: Re: More about SD-Card problems
...I'm confused - how did a private email to Martin end up in some Cirrus related mailing list? ...[...] ...Well this patch set wasn't meant for public review. It's just a hack I'm working on which was going to evolve into something which could be considered into mainline. I totally agree with you that we should try to use an existing framework. These... more »

More about SD-Card problems
Hello, I've been investigating this SD-Card problem for a while and I think it's time to share my observations. As we know, 'apt-get update' is very good in triggering the problem. I've managed to reduce it into a small test program which almost always causes the card to fail. The program is attached... more »
