Hi,

In response to Pete's mail about contributing modules:

For me, since the new www.silverstripe.org - it seems easy to contribute modules (takes a while to get approved, but that is fair enough). However, I would dearly like them to be more browseable:
- list rather than (slow) paginated
- supported and unsupported mixed / but clearly labelled (no-one searches for an unsupported module, they search for a module that does A or B)
- email alert (optional) for new additions / updates

Basically, they are relatively hard to access right now.

Hey,

I agree with Nicolaas that silverstripe.org needs a little bit of work. But I suspect the core developers would probably be better to spend their time working on core rather than on ss.org - is the code for the module in http://svn.silverstripe.com/open/modules/ ? Could the community just contribute patches for any changes they would like to see?

Cheers,

Yeah I usually hit trak before looking at the modules section at .org
anyway. If the module is sufficiently popular and people are
contributing to it, it should be moved there.

The code behind silverstripe.org isn't currently an open-source
module, so this would be a little tricky. However, I'll pass this
discussion thread on to Sibylle, who looks after the ongoing
development of silverstripe.org.
