It seems people are interested in two sorts of activities for the study group:
    - verifying/discussing solutions we're allowed to discuss
    - watching videos, working on problems, etc in each other's company

We'll split these two types of meetings up.

--------

Next main meeting: Saturday, Oct 15

12noon-2: Discuss finished problems we're allowed to discuss
2-7ish: work on things, watch videos, etc in each other's company

We're putting a HackerDojo event in case other people want to join us.  If there gets to be too many of us, then we can split.

Next small meetings:
- Tuesday, 11am-2pm at Hacker Dojo, to work on class material.  So far Alex and Cord.
- Friday, 3pm-6pm at Hacker Dojo to work on class material.  So far Alex, Ed, Cord.

--------

Policy for things we can and can't discuss:
AI class:
- no sharing solutions to homework problems before solutions have been posted
- no doing exams together
ML class:
- no sharing solutions to review questions
- no sharing source code for programming exercises (after submission deadline is ok, presumably

Also, other people can feel free to propose more smaller meetings at
whatever time they want.

I feel like I've seen this question before but can't find the answer.
Do you need to be a member to attend Hacker Dojo meetups or is there
need to pay the visitor fee?

Are people still planning to meet up Friday given the easy level of
the homework? I think some of the questions are ambiguous and there
doesn't seem to be a way to get official answer so I wanted to run
question clarification by "group consensus". But given clarification,
the questions really only take minutes.

It's an event that I as a member am putting on, and events don't have to charge, so I don't think people need to worry about paying the suggested $10 donation.

I'm still planning to meet Friday, mostly because having people working around me really helps me get things done.

Hello All,

- Friday, 3pm-6pm at Hacker Dojo to work on class material.  So far Alex, Ed, Cord.

I forgot about a medical appointment I have at 3:45pm today.  I'll still be at the dojo at 3, but I'll have to step out for around an hour for my appointment.

hi all.  im somewhere far from the peninsula but i joined this group to add some discussion context to the online course.

discussion in email at least keeps us considering the coursework while we're reading it.  i consider myself a pretty deeply committed researcher and experimentor of ai concepts.  i study programing language structure and grammar with a need for a course like this to help frame formal terminology and concepts and relay them more clearly.

many of the ai groups i have joined tend to rely heavily on wikipedia references and discussions tend to migrate into wiki documents as concepts solidify.  are collaboration tools like this available for the class formally?  i didn't seem to see it in the course site details.

Just checking. The subject says "Next meeting Sa, Oct 15th, 2pm", but the text below says "Friday" and "today".

When are people meeting up?

Thank,

Tom

I was thinking of being over there around noonish tomorrow. There was a note a while ago that mentioned noon :-) Will anyone else be there?

Tom, it sounds like we're having a smaller meetup today for people who can make it (I can't), and also another meetup tomorrow (Saturday) at noon.

See y'all tomorrow!

I will come to both the Friday and the Saturday meetings.

But not this week because of complications.
