For new authors - you have to let us publish your first two videos before you're marked as being 'trusted', after that you're welcome to self-publish anything else you add.
When you next add a video, once you've added it to the database you get redirected to the video page. Below your text description you already know about the section marked 'edit', below that is a new section marked 'Self-publish' (only visible to trusted authors).
The text reads:
----
As a trusted author you can publish your own videos. There are some things that you must check before you publish:
1. Has the video processed? It takes up to 1 hr for the video to be processed and uploaded before it is shown above
2. Does the video play all the way through?
3. Is the audio still in sync with the video at the end?
4. Is the video the right length?
----
Below this check-list is a link for you to click which'll let you publish the video. *Please* make sure that you've double-checked the check-list, you really don't want to have a non-processed/broken video published, it'll look a bit silly sitting on the site's frontpage when it isn't ready for the prime-time.
As long as you're happy that the video is ready to be published, just go right on ahead and publish it.
Cheers, and thanks for your patience, this feature has been on my to-do list for a long time!
Ian.
