Subject: New Club series - OpenOffice 3.1 Writer

I've been working on a new series for the Club during the last week, this
one is aimed on helping people move from MS Word to OpenOffice's Writer.  I
demo Writer using the latest v3.1, released just a few weeks back.

The series has 11 parts, it focuses on all the jobs that a first-timer needs
to go through to move from Word including an example of working with .doc
files in both Word & Writer, then moving on to editing, getting help,
printing, spell-check etc.  You'll find details here:
http://blog.showmedo.com/2009/05/30/openoffice-31-writer-tutorial/

If you're a Club member then you'll have access to the first half of the
series now, I'll publish the rest early next week.

If you're using OpenOffice or want to learn it...please take a look and let
me know what else needs covering.  I plan to do more series, to do that I
need to know what is missing :-)  All feedback very gratefully received.

We already have a great set of free OpenOffice videos, Dai in particular has
made some great series:

and I aim to generate a lot of publicity around OpenOffice in the coming
weeks.  If you'd like to ride on the coat-tails of that publicity by making
your own videos, now would be a great time to start recording!

Cheers,
Ian.
