Hi I want to download the videos as try to watch them on a Flash
Player on the world wide wait (dial up) is a pain. I successfully
downloaded one, then I tried to download the second using downloading
Software called Download Accelerator Plus DAP this usually works quite
well but now I can not open or play the file I get a message that
'This file does not have a program associated with it for performing
this task. Create an association in Folder Options control panel.' I
had had a play with it but I could not get it to work. 1, is it
recoverable and 2, should I just stick to the slow download method in
future?

Hi, Seems like you don't have a program to view the .flv video. If you're on Windows you should try to right click on it and than choose open with. There you click on flash player or set it manually. If you still need a player I would suggest vlc, on http://www.videolan.org Marius

Hi Andrew, Marius is right that VLC is probably the right tool for the job. Assuming you're on Windows I've also used Riva's free player: http://www.rivavx.com/index.php?id=422 but VLC supports many formats and I'd generally recommend that.

Hi,
I have the VLC program it just would not play the videos when I used
the down load accelerator, it is a bit of a pain to download in
Firefox as it keeps stopping and I have to restart and then when I
want to save the video to a folder I have to do some gymnastics, it
seems to work in the end but it is awfully slow that is all.

That's odd...the video serving site is just a plain ftp site, your accelerator should have worked fine.
Sounds like you'll have to stick to the usual download process, ian.
