Rovno Shogi Open 2010

Dear shogi fans,

On behalf of our Ukrainian friends, I would like to invite you to the
8th Rovno Shogi Open tournament which is to be held in Rovno on August
20-22 this year.

Why Rovno?

Rovno Open is the biggest annual tournament in the Eastern Europe. As
a rule, the traditional number of participants exceeds 30 players (in
2005 more than 100 players (see the report here: http://shogi.by/tournaments/15/)).

Rovno is located in the west of Ukraine and easily accessible via
train, bus or car from Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and Belarus. The city
is located in 3-hour train ride from the Lvov international airport
and in 4-hour bus ride from the Kiev international airport. Citizens
of the EU nations, Russia and Belarus can visit Ukraine without a
visa.

of Japan in Ukraine and Ukraine-Japan Center.

Open Rivne Shogi Blitz:
- participation of players without age and performance limitations
- 7 rounds by Swiss system
- 2 x 8 min. + sudden death, without handicap

Open Rivne Shogi:
- participation of players without age and performance limitations
- 6 rounds by MakMahon (Swiss) system
- 2 x 45 min. + 30s byoyomi, without handicap

Starting fee:
- starting fee 3 EUR
- youngsters up to 18 years of age starting fee free
Prizes for Rivne Shogi: medals and material prizes
