关于I/O Burst的概念

在很多地方看到I/O Burst的概念，如Iometer中的Burst参数设置，网络中的Latency Burst，
网上还有说CPU Burst。自己也查了下资料，但始终不能理解具体含义。

有人可以解下惑嘛？
