Noor Youth and Muslim Student Leadership Programme would like to present the debate:
British Media: Biased…Or not?
The debate motion:
"This house believes that the British media is not biased against Muslims."
The British media is vast and involves various mediums such as television, radio, internet and newspapers. These help us to form an understanding of the news of not only this country, but the world as a whole. In today’s world, highly negative news stories involving Muslims feature on frequent basis, with an increase in media coverage of the fascist far right. It is for those reasons that it has never been more essential to call for a discussion and encourage debate on whether the media is bias in their portrayal towards Muslims or simply being fair in their coverage, with experts in the field from the BBC present to join the discussion.
This will be debated by four youth, if you are interested in participating then please email te...@nooryouthonline.com
There will also be two key speeches by:
Roger Hardy
BBC’s Middle East and Islamic Affairs correspondent
&
Seyed Hassen al-Sadr
