KAVEH SAIDI (Electric Violin) LINDA SACK (Dulcimer) at Green Line
Today 14th 3-5pm

JUNE 14TH -

BLUEGRASS

LINDA SACK (Dulcimer)

Singing harmonies and playing music was part of everyday life for the
"von Sack Family" (dad-titled nickname). At five years old in their
Maidenhead, England childhood home, Linda was strumming mom's autoharp
and singing English Christmas carols with two sisters and brother,
making recordings to send to the United States. Back in the States,
she studied piano and violin for a decade. While completing an
internship near Ohio University in the Appalachian Mountain foothills,
she discovered and fell in love with the mountain dulcimer and
American roots music: old-time, bluegrass and celtic music

KAVEH SAIDI

Rock / Alternative / Experimental

Kaveh Saidi's compositions range from works for string orchestra,
chamber pieces, classical and rock arrangements for strings,
electronica, and ambient works. His latest CD, Clear Light Parts the
Haze reflects a move from concert music towards accessible rock tunes
and mesmerizing soundscapes with the violin and electric guitar used
in new and powerful ways. For this album, Kaveh drew from influences
such as Jeff Beck, Pink Floyd, Stephane Grappelli, Steve Reich,
Vangelis, Steve Vai, Rush, Nathan Milstein, and the Kronos Quartet. On
Clear Light Parts the Haze, Kaveh creates instrumental rock music with
the violin and guitar at the forefront of his sound. What results is
an explosive and meaningful combination of hard rock, funk, and
ambient music with a classical musician's sensibility.
