Attached is the letter that was sent from this commission to John Anglace recommending that BOA consider establishing a deer committee to study the issue and make recommendations.

I would like to be on the committee. I can also contact Chief Hurliman and ask if he or anyone from the Police Department would be willing to serve. I would suggest someone from the Land Trust as well. Tom, perhaps there are some hunters connected with Jones Farm who live in Shelton and might be interested. We should get a farmer as well.

I will ask Dan Beardsley of the Cider Mill if he would be interested as I know he has had problems with them attacking his crops and is very interested in population control efforts in town. Of course I assume any farmer in town has had issues.

I had also been thinking of Dan because I understand that besides being a farmer, he has an environmental science background.

Great!
Conservation/Trails should have a strong presence on the committee because open space and trails will likely be involved. I would recommend someone from the Land Trust as well.

Joe, I have a list of potential members, so if you could email a some names to me, with whatever other expertise/experience the member may have (in addition to being on the Land Trust), that would be helpful.
