FERC just posted the
attached letter reversing their earlier decision to close the canal. Note
the mention of the Conservation Commission's comments being in agreement with
the DEP. We should send a thank you letter to the DEP or something, they
really stood up for our fishermen.
Note that I was able
to receive this notification by email since I set up a FERC eLibrary account
yesterday and requested all new postings for the project to be emailed to
me. Wish I had known sooner that I could do that.
I don't know that
the case is closed - I imagine McCallum can file something or other to keep this
going, and FERC did not specifically order McCallum to remove the new fence. But
it's great news.
