FYI, CFPA has a hike on their WalkCT site listed for Dec 26 at Oak Valley Trail.  This is a letterboxing hike (that I had nothing to do with!) in search of a “Holiday Spirit” series of boxes. Dec 26 is “boxing day”, which letterboxers have claimed as their holiday.

You should get that story to the papers. They are always looking for
fillers and this one can be prepared by reporter in advance to run on
holidays (when conceivably they want to be home enjoying them)

My only concern is that CFPA has made no provisions for snow...that parking
lot would not be cleared out right away if it snowed the week of Christmas,
and there is nowhere else to park. Not to mention you would have a hard time
finding these letterboxes when everything is covered with snow.
