A lot of you will know I'm spending quite a bit of time with Jonny
working on setting up a place in cambridge to host SHDC-type events
(and many more besides!). At the same time, I've failed to organise an
SHDC recently, and that is kind of because I wanted to find a space we
could run them in that 1) wasn't my house and 2) had running water
etc:) Kind of like what we plan for makespace :)
But things are looking close :D
So, I'd like to run the next SHDC in Makespace! Whilst I hope many of
us will use makespace to hack stuff at all hours of all days, I think
it'd be great to have this regular meet event to get that critical
mass and new faces that can make something like SHDC so fun. So, I'd
like to suggest we run it as a regular monthly thing, open to anyone.
And cake.
Up for opinions, but my first proposal is to do it as a week-night
thing, straight after working hours. Not invading peoples weekend,
good excuse for food, and avoid the "relax" in front of the tv
syndrome; SHDC is much more relaxing!! (in a very different way).
How about monthly on a tuesday or thursday night from 6pm? How would
that work? Answers on an e-postcard.
We're working as hard as is possible to make makespace real asap, so I
hope to be able to announce SHDC#20 soon!!! Looking forward to it
already.

The same impression here. :)

Anytime will work for me.

BTW: Thanks for keeping the discussion on shdc google group. It's superior to other means of communication (e.g. mails from meetup) and I can reply from Gnus.
