Hi

I am trying to install the new version of Sharp Architecture and am
getting an issue when I try to create a new project. I have re-
intsalled the new version of T4 toolbox, copied across the new dll and
template zip file to the correction locations. When I try to create a
new solution with the I get several error messages relating to tt file
locations:

DomainObjectFormViewModel.tt could not be found in the project
templates
DomainObjectManagementServiceTemplate.tt
IDomainObjectManagementServiceTemplate.tt
IDomainObjectRepositoryTemplate.tt
GetDomainObjectSummariesHbmTemplate.tt

With a final error of 'Problem encountered creating sub project
CrudScaffoldingEnterpriseApp'

Has anyone had any similar problems or got any ideas what the issue
is?

Phil

Phil,
if you are creating the project in the default location "My Documents/VS2010/Project", it is most likely a case of path names being too long. This is something we are going to correct in the future.

My co-worker is seeing this same set of errors. He is running VS 2008
and Creating projects in the folder C:\Projects using the solution
name A. So I'm thinking it's not the path being too long and all my
googling isn't providing many answers.

Any direction you can help provide would be great.

If have bmps of the error messages (let me know where I should put
them if you'd like) the first set of errors are all in the form "The
file XXXX.tt could not be found within the project templates.
Continuing to run, but the resulting project may not build properly."
all the XXXX.tt are some variant of DomainObject Template.

Next error reads, "A problem was encountered creating the sub project
'CrudScaffoldingForEnterpriseApp'. Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been
returned from a call to a COM component".

The final friendly message is, "The Extender Provider failed to return
an Extender for this object.".

I realize this is probably related to his VS2008/WinXP setup (which I
believe are fairly vanilla and up to date), but I am failing at
finding the root cause on my own.

Regards,
Sharon

I am having the exact same problems that you are. In both 1.5 and
1.6.

I heard about the issues with long paths but don't think this is my
issue either. The project was contained in c:\sandbox. i also modified
he location of the temolates thinkimg that the long path for the
template might be at issue and that also yielded no results.

i started looking through the templates and compared it to the
structure contained therein and i don't think that the directories are
being created properly. this would make sense as to why we are
getting the error even though the file *is* where it's supposed to be
in the file structure of the template. i'm wondering if there might
be an issue with the dll that goes in the common directory of visual
studio.

if amyone has had a positive outcome with this problem, please let me
know.
