Subject: Go for the Blue and Gold - February 20th - 6:00pm

The Blue and Gold Banquet is right around the corner!  Are you ready?
Here's a brief summary of the night's events.

When:  Friday, February 20th Time:  Doors open at 6:00 pm
Where:  St. Sophia's Greek Orthodox Church, 525 Church Street, Elgin, 60123
Dress:  All scouts should wear full Class A uniform
Agenda:

6:20 pm - Opening Ceremony 6:30 pm - Dinner Buffet
6:40 pm -  Advancements
7:15 pm - DVD Slide Show
7:30 pm - Arrow of Light Ceremony
8:00 pm - Entertainment
8:45 pm - Closing Ceremony

 We will be setting up on Thursday night beginning at 4pm.  Anyone who has
some time to spare is welcome to join us!

Tiger Cubs are asked to arrive at 6:00 pm on Friday so they can practice
their Flag Ceremony.

Who We Are
Incorporated in 1966, Anderson Animal Shelter has provided temporary housing
for approximately 3,400 dogs, cats, birds, gerbils, hamsters, ferrets,
rabbits and other homeless or abandoned pets. We are committed to a low-kill
philosophy (100% adoption of adoptable animals) and so do not place time
limits on any of the animals in our care. In 2001, an on-site veterinary
clinic was added to provide health care for Shelter animals and to assist in
the goal of spaying/neutering all adopted dogs & cats before they leave the
Shelter.

Wishlist
Here's a list of our most needed items if you would like to drop something
off during shelter business hours. No donation is too big or small and
everything is very much appreciated!
*Paper Towels
*Blankets and towels
*30 pack aluminum half baking pans – used for litter pans (available at
Sam's Club)
*Fabuloso floor cleaner
*Hill's Science Diet cat food (dry or canned)
*Hill's Science Diet dog food (dry or canned)
*Dog toys, especially XL rawhides, XL Nylabones and XL Kongs
*Cat toys
*Kitty Litter – non scoopable
*Hard-shell pet carriers (all sizes)
*Bleach
*Feliway spray
*Dog and cat beds
*Cat scratching posts
*Pet nail trimmers
*Electric heating pads
*Aluminum cans (for recycling)
*Monetary donations

Sorry I should have take the line out about dropping off the donation at the
shelter. We will collect the items at the Blue and Gold banquet and Den 5
will deliver the items to the shelter.
