In this introductory-level presentation you'll learn everything that you need to "git" up and running with a local Git repository. We'll begin with the evolution of version control systems and the advantages of a distributed VCS. We'll install Git tools on a clean machine then setup and use our first repository. We'll end with a brief example of working with a remote GitHub repository. By the end of this presentation, you'll have a working knowledge of basic Git operations.
