If you haven't yet sent (emailed) notification to your members regarding the scheduled changes to LSIS 2012, feel free to use the text here. BYC members will get this later today, and it might be simpler, more consistent and more effective if we each use the same messaging.
Thanks, Tom Kjaersgaard
P.S. The new racing/committee boat flags arrived today...so there will soon be some happy race committees!.

Memo: Regarding Changes to the Lake Simcoe Interclub Series race schedule.
Two modifications to the LSIS race schedule will be in place beginning with the 2012 series.
The first change is to the June 23, 24 weekend (Races #3 and #4).
Instead of beginning Race #3 at Kempenfelt Bay Yacht Club and racing to Cook Bay as in the past, both weekend races will now be sailed/hosted at Cook Bay Yacht Club. If weather and wind conditions permit, Race #3 might be a long distance race (TBD), possibly around Fox Island and return to CBYC. The Sunday race is scheduled to be a course-race, around the marks, as usual. Accommodation will be available at Kon-Tiki Marina as usual with rafting in the marina and anchoring out options for the larger boats with deeper keels. Also Crate’s Marina across the bay is available.
The second schedule change impacts Race #6 on Sept. 1st.
Additionally, starting with the 2012 season, the first race of the Labour Day weekend will be a standard around the marks type race in Kempenfelt Bay, hosted by and sailed at KBYC , followed by the beginning of the race #7 to Hawkestone - hosted by Barrie Yacht Club. (Race #7 will get underway somewhere between KBYC and BYC). Reservations for moorage at The City of Barrie Marina (KBYC) should be made well ahead of time, and there will also be rafting room at BYC. Races #8 and #9 will be sailed as usual from Hawkestone, with a longer race on Sunday and a shorter around the marks races on the Monday. (Sept 2 & 3rd respectively.)
The LSIS Executive is pleased to announce these improvements designed to enhance the strength and appeal of the LSIS summer racing program.
LSYA Executive, 2012
