Dear Members,
Happy New Year!
December has been a quiet month for activities. We tried, but there were no takers for putting together a holiday potluck or a cooking class. Various reasons. In any case, generally trying to hold events in December (or even after Thanksgiving) is hard as most people already have a variety of holiday celebrations that they are involved in.
For January, there's nothing up, but we may try and do a mixer. The event we believe most of you would be keen for would be the Spring Festival, the Chinese New Year, … this year, we're going to call it the Lunar New Year Celebration. We are formally working with some new organisations to make the event bigger and different from the last two years. Date should be in early or mid-Feb as we try and help folks who are actually going back to Singapore in late Jan to still have a chance to attend.
if no one helps, less happens.
Finally, on the topic of this mail:

We received the following email from Ms Sarah Kilban, a local casting director in San Francisco. She is working on a voice-over project and need a Singaporean Male voice.
Would you please forward this email to your members. Those who are interested may contact Ms Sarah Kilban directly at cast...@gmail.com for further details. ______________________
We are sure we can count on some members (and feel free to reach out to your friends) with the right voice. (Wondering what if they found a non-Singaporean with a Singaporean voice, does that count?"

Subject: Seeking Singaporean Male voices for voice-over project
Hello there!
I just spoke to someone at the Consulate who was kind enough to give me this e-mail address.
As I mentioned to her, I'm a local casting director here in San Francisco and am working on a project
that has 23 different voices- most of them non-American but speaking in English with their
recognizable accent - one of which is supposed to be a:
Singaporean Male voice
I was hoping that you might know of a few local Singaporean men who would be open to
auditioning for this project. This job is
recording soon, so I am trying to find these voices within the next few days.
Info on the project:
This project is for a webcast that focuses on global leadership (i.e. how
to communicate effectively given different countries have different styles
of communication, etc.). Each role is fairly small and represents various
perspectives/characters.
The recordings would happen on January 11, 12, with a possibility (maybe)
of the 13th. Pay is $150...it should be no more than half an hour
in the studio. (in San Francisco)
I'm hoping you may know of a few men who might be interested in auditioning.
If so, they can contact me (ideally as soon as possible) and I will send them a short,
generic paragraph that they can either record on their own and send to me via
e-mail - or we can schedule them to come in to my office to audition.
I so appreciate your time and attention in this matter and look forward to hearing
from you.
Thank you and Happy Holidays!
Sincerely,
Sarah Kliban
P.S. Could you possibly let me know you received this e-mail....the e-mail address was a bit
complicated so I'm worried that I might have mistyped! Thank you.
