Friends,
**
Well we have taken a week to breathe, recount, reflect on and otherwise
take a tally of our Inaugural Upcycle Ball. And we are so happy to
announce that it was a HUGE success.
First and foremost the reports from people who attended have been
overwhelmingly positive. Mary Kay and Adam had a great time, as did I, so
on behalf of the three of us please accept our most sincere expression of
gratitude for making the party great. Of course the Ball was so much more
than just a party and it is my pleasure to report that we have more bikes,
more money, more parts, more friends, more opportunities, and more energy
than ever before!
Then there is money. After paying for the party and collecting from our
couple of outstanding (in both senses of the word) silent auction winners
we will have raised $3725 from the Upcycle Ball!! That is incredible news
for us and made possible by all of you. Again, so much thanks.
In addition to that we collected 8 complete bicycles! We also gathered
lots of parts like wheels, handlebars, stems, pedals, tires, and more. More
incredible news. With some of our proceeds we have already purchased a
cargo bike to allow us to start doing more mobile shops, some web services
and a storage unit to keep all of these great treasures!!!
Don't miss the high-res photo booth

to us by Volker Neumann and Jillian Betterly!
And, of course Shawn Clark's incredible shots of the

!
And just in from Joshua Farr, a great teaser video of what went down:SF

our latest news. Our hope is to be announcing some mobile shop agreements
soon.
Many, many thanks to you, our dedicated volunteers. We hope you will come
join us at an upcoming mobile shop or at the very least the 2nd Annual
Upcycle Ball tentatively scheduled for February 2nd, 2013.
Thank you so much for being a part of what we are doing! Together we will
transform bikes and individuals, one donation at a time.
See you on the streets.
