Hello SF UWH. Here is a copy of the announcement I just sent to folks who
have signed up for the tournament. If you want to play it isn't too late but
let us know ASAP. You are welcome to drop by the pool, socialize, help with
the food and wall etc. If you have access to a large truck that can carry
20' long wall sections please let me know so we don't need to rent a U-Haul.
-- Help our wall
If you are driving and have weights (for scuba etc) please bring them. We'll
have tape and pens to mark them. Your weights (in addition to the huge pile
of lead we have) will make the walls more secure.
We have access to the pool from 7-9pm Friday night to install about 300' of
wall. Eager helpers will be much appreciated! If you are in San Francisco
just show up. We'll probably get some food and drink afterwards.
If you are not in the final games please get ready for the banquet and then
come to the pool side immediately after the final to help carry the wall to
the truck.
-- Gear, rules and refs
Make sure you paint your sticks. They should be all white or black. Mouth
guards and ear protection on both ears are mandatory. The contrasting glove
rule is strongly recommended, but not mandatory.
We will have one experienced ref and 2 players in the water for each game.
Everyone, even rookies, are expected to take a turn reffing. It will give
you a chance to watch a game very closely. Please review the rulebook at
http://www.refereesguild.org/ . Phil Hickey will be doing a brief summary of
how to ref at 9am, please attend to refresh your memory.
-- Registered list with USOA waiver and dues
My records are not perfect but here is my list of players, sorted by club.
If your name isn't followed by (WD) I don't have a record of your 2009
waiver and dues yet. Please let me know what happened or just bring it with
you to the pool. If you see someone on this list who isn't coming or if
someone missing who is coming please let us know so we have less last minute
team changes.

-- T-Shirts
The print quality is much improved from last year. See the design here
http://sfuwh.org/tourney_shirt_2009.jpeg . Gus has quite a tale behind the
translation and will have a very limited selection of sizes for people who
didn't pre-order.
-- Food and massages at the pool
Our awesome food team (Jose, Renata, and Carolyn) are providing more than
just bananas and PB&J at the pool. I hear they have been busy in the kitchen
but the door is closed. If you have any diet constraints or suggestions for
food on the pool deck please let us know.
We have a growing youth hockey program in SF. Come meet some of the kids and
parents as they sell smoothies to support the program.
Massages from Leonora De Santis were popular at PCCs last year and we are
lucky to have her services available at our tournament.
