Hello,

The following is from an email that one of our new riders sent to me. I've often wondered about stopping in Fairfax for something warm to eat or drink when it is late on our brevets. A map to the location is on the website, but in short it is about a block up Bolinas and then a right turn, just after you hit downtown Fairfax. They are open until 1am and serve food til then. This put me in mind of the cafe's one might spot open late at night on PBP, and the brief respite they offer during the night time. Below it mentions beer, but I'm betting you can get coffee and tea there as well.

"I work at the Gestalt Haus in Fairfax which is a cafe/bar catered to cyclist- we have bike racks inside and serve beer and German sausages- perfect for post rides.  There are only a handful of us that work there, and I got the ok yesterday to offer anyone a discount from the SF Randonneurs ride ($1 off beer and food) if they stop by Gestalt on their way through Fairfax during the ride.

Here is our website which shows our location and tells a bit more about us."

At the risk of sounding cliched, this is awesome. Nice to know that people out there support us.

We (Bryan, Ricardo, John, and I) rode with Angel on the 300k.  Angel is one of the folks who works there.  I have been to the old Gestalt in SF when it was still a bicycle bar.  It was pretty good.  It would be nice to stop here and get a sausage or vege sausage on the way home.  Or if not on a Brevet, a beer and sausage.  I am looking forward to stopping here in the future.
