Hello Riders,

Just a quick note to let you know that after the 600km we don't go dormant! In fact, there are three rides in June and something every month through November.

In June there is the Dart/Dart Populaire. Teams are forming now and the deadline is Friday.

Later in the month, we'll have the Point Reyes Populaire (115km) with a post ride picnic on June 22nd, start time 7am.

The next weekend we'll have a Sunday brevet when we do the Russian River 200km on the 30th, start time 7am.

The full 2013 list of rides is here: http://sfrandonneurs.org/

Maybe it's because I've been off the bike for two weeks due to a pesky stomach bug and am feeling a bit down, but is anyone else feeling post-600K blues? Makes me wonder if I should do GRR so that I have another goal on the horizon...

Suffering from bike withdrawal,

Jenny

The other day, a co-worker asked me what motivated me to ride my bike
after completing the Davis 600km.

Was it a trick question? I didn't get it.

Another time somebody asked me what I was training for. "Ummm....next
weekend, I guess?" "What's next weekend?" "I'm going to ride my bike
again."

:D

That’s my normal answer too!

Q: “What are you training for?”

Me: “To ride like this again tomorrow.”

No harm and no firm commitment with just adding your name to the interest list:

And of course Max's Adventure Series is a gorgeous set of rides and a awesome goal:

Jenny,

I'm having post sfr400k blues.  I just today heard from my doctor with the results of my MRI two nights ago: I tore my meniscus on the 400k and I'm still not back on the bike yet. I'm going stir crazy and having a hard time dealing with this. Joy road was a piece of cake in comparison. My goal right now is to heal enough that I can simply get back on the bike for any distance. My R12 attempt is going to get reset and I might have to bail out of the Alta Alpina ride I've signed up for.

OK, enough complaining. I'm sorry to hear you've been I'll. I hope you're feeling better soon and are able to do grr.  Drag tbo along with you. I'm looking forward to your next ride report.

Eric

@Tom - Ok, I'll add my name to the interest list...and see where I'm at before the reg price shoots up in early June. :)

@Eric - So sorry to hear about your medical woes; I can understand how you feel - agh, cabin fever! - but the good thing is you're taking the time you need to heal
and you will be back on the bike, better than ever! Take care and keep us posted on your progress.

Cheers,
Jenny

Is there a call out for volunteers for the DART? IIRC, it ends in Berkeley. I'd be into volunteering to staff the finish control, if that's still needed.

Yes, we're looking for one or two more good men or women to work the Dart finish control, which is at T-Rex BBQ in Berkeley. Volunteers would be needed between approximately 5:45 pm (first teams arrive at 6 pm) and 9:30 pm (last teams should arrive by 8:30 pm). Duties involve greeting teams and helping to park and watch bikes, signing in team members, and checking that the team's cards/receipts are completely and properly filled out.

One volunteer will also be needed as an event contact who just needs to be reachable by phone during the event to record and relay information on teams/riders who don't start, don't finish, or are running behind schedule.

If interested, please email me off-list at fle...@sfrandonneurs.org
