Folks - lets switch from RUSA logo jersey only focus for a moment and
remember what was done in 2003/ 2007 -- there was a California Jersey
created for PBP. Also SFR wool jersey used and both options were used for
group photos. You need more than one jersey since as mentioned PBP lasts
more than a day. Having a unique jersey that other PBP rider would like to
swap for is part of the event. I remember Tim W being mobbed and having to
agree to swap the jersey he was wearing. I didn't buy a RUSA PBP jersey
before the 2003 PBP event. The DBC PBP jersey was my choice. Think also when
you state what your club is to RUSA membership. Do you say RUSA or SFR or
DBC or SRR or SCR? I would put more focus on deciding whether we have a
California unique jersey or go with our club jerseys. We now have our SFR
jerseys. Time to get more if needed. No desperate reason to have PBP on
jersey. We get that one from France. But having attention getting Jerseys is
part of the event. I recall the Aussie, BC (Canada) and ours got attention
last time. Plus others. This time? Portugal and ??

The RUSA logo jersey discussion is in an endless spin with no exit

Richard

Richard,

A NorCal jersey is being designed for this year's PBP. It will use the
2007 NorCal design as a basis, with changes. Craig Robertson is doing
the work on this and will present what has been accomplished so far at
the March 6th Davis PBP Seminar. Although Craig can't make the SFR PBP
seminar the day before, he hopes to share what he can at that point
with us so that we can present that to our group on March 5th.

I'm just hoping I get far enough this time to have changed jerseys! ;^)

All,
There was a Davis jersey (long and short) along with wind breakers and vests for PBP in both 1999 and 2003.  Ann Lincoln was responsible for it.  In 2007, Susan Jacobsen did a NorCal jersey that included the logos from Davis, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, and Santa Rosa.  The design for each was pretty much the same with the background color changing from a yellow tan in 1999 to a light blue in 2003 and on to a darker blue in 2007.
I don't know if there was anything for 1995 or prior, but Lois might.

This year, I'm working on a similar jersey order and have sent in a deposit to get a production date.  My intent is to again go with a similar design, but change the background color.  The plan is to have jerseys, short, long, and sleeveless.  These should be available in both race and club cuts and in both women and men's versions and with full or 3/4 zip.  There should also be vests and wind breakers along with thermal vests and thermal jackets.  Voler will be the producer so you can look at their web site and see what each item looks like.  http://custom.voler.com/Full_Custom/
The ordering process will be online like with Todd's SF Randonneurs Voler order, and distribution will be through the various RBAs.  I do not plan to hold a distribution party like Susan did.  As Rob indicated in another e-mail, he'll present the information on March 5 - I plan to be riding the Davis 200k that day.  I will be at the Davis presentation on March 6.
Right now I don't want to commit to dates until I get confirmation from Voler.  Pricing still needs to be calculated; because it's California delivery, sales tax will need to be built in.  One thing that will need to be figured out is how people will indicate during the order process which RBA they want the clothing to go to.
There will not be skin suits, shorts, or accessories like knee or arm warmers.  Voler's pricing is based on a minimum order size.  All short sleeve and sleeveless items are in a commom pool and all long sleeve items are in a different pool.  In order to get a better price, I've signed up for 100 units in each pool.

One small secret when you are trying to fit Voler jerseys.  Because of the way the short sleeve jerseys are made, the full zip option adds about 3/4" to the girth.
