Many articles of interest in the March issue of the Sunset Beacon, a neighborhood newspaper.

Survey Identifies Historic Houses, Neighborhoods
A former neighborhood, the Oceanside, was discovered through the efforts of the Sunset Parkside Education and Action Committee (SPEAK), which has spearheaded efforts to document the history of the Sunset. The Oceanside, located along Ocean Beach between Lincoln Way and Sloat Boulevard, was a strong concentration of houses just south of Golden Gate Park, with a few more located to the south.
Water Recycling Plant Slated for GG Park Moved
A plan to locate a water recycling plant in the west end of Golden Gate Park has been cancelled.
Disappearing Birds a Concern
The Audubon Society's annual San Francisco bird count has found extirpation, or the local disappearance, of a species a concern again this year.
Conservancy Supports Ocean Beach Plan
In January the California Coastal Conservancy unanimously voted to support a plan to combat Ocean Beach erosion and backed it up with a $400,000 donation.
