algorithms for measuring synchronization and causality between time-series
of neural origin. Additionally you will be in close contact with our
collaborators at the Université Joseph Fourier (Grenoble, France) in order
to incorporate your implementations to a centralized data analysis
web-portal that they are maintaining. More information about the research

This position lasts until the end of 2009 and will be filled as soon as a
suitable candidate is found. A shorter duration (e.g. as a summer work) is
also possible. The other contractual terms (part-time, full-time, researcher
or research assistant position) are negotiable depending on the preferences
and qualifications of the selected candidate. This job could also be used as
an MSc Thesis topic.
Skills:
Excellent programming skills in C and/or C++. Background in engineering,
mathematics, physics or related fields is highly desirable. MATLAB
programming skills are positively considered but are not required. Good
written and spoken English.

The Department of Signal Processing (SP) of TUT is one of the world's
prominent research organizations in the field, unifying signal processing
algorithms with bioinformatics, telecommunications, and networked
multimedia. Its expertise spans compression techniques, audio, image and
video analysis, filtering and transform-based techniques. The Department of
Signal Processing is hosting the Academy of Finland Centre of Excellence in
Signal Processing (2006-2011) and this job falls within the research Focus
