Artist Studio Application - The Sweat Shop
The Sweat Shop is a community of diverse artists committed to maintaining
affordable studio space for active artists in the heart of San Francisco.
We are looking for independent, creative artists in a variety of media to
share our 24-hour access studios in a commercial building on Market Street.
Please note that only a couple of the units have windows. All the other
units have windows into the hallway and thus get some passive sunlight.
Also, bathrooms, and shower are down the hall, and there is a communal
kitchen and hang-out space. There are elevators and security entrances on
both ends of the building. Generally we request quiet hours Sunday through
Thursday from 11:00 pm to 8:00 am, and hold short weekly meetings to
discuss community issues. Please tell us about yourself, your artwork, your
lifestyle, and why you want a studio here.
Please tell us about your art work. * What medium(s) do you predominantly
work with? What materials, size/dimensions, etc? If you have an artist
statement, please paste here or email to jeben...@jebender.net.

a compatable cohort on the floor...
I need a lot of quiet, and am not very tolerant of loud noise or music.
I'm easy, pretty tolerant as long as it's not the middle of the night.
I am fine with noise and I don't mind loud industrial sounds or music at
all hours of the day.
