For those of you who've been wanting to try the Bayway but need a little slower learning pace (or if you're trying to save some legs for the weekend), I'll be heading out from Ritual at 6:30 am this Friday. It's FFFF-esque in that it'll be a Friday--though not the First, I'm Friendly, and I like to use the term Frolic as an excuse for not being able to ride fast. It's Bayway-ish because I'll be heading down to Stanford. So, if you are heading to Google or MV, please know your way from University.

More miscellany:
- Please bring your own spare tubes. I can help you with your flat if you need it, but my tubes are for 584 wheels.
- We'll be traversing the Bridge-to-Nowhere, unless someone knows the LeBariation. I've ridden it with him but I really couldn't begin to explain it.

Any takers?

Oops, reply-all fail.

+1 to Google. I don't know the way all that well, but will bring a cue sheet if nobody else +1's. But I bet this'll also be a great recovery for tomorrow's HMBway riders.

There are usually 5-10 of us who gather for

This Friday will definitely be a good newbie day assuming you're
basically comfortable with the distance.

There are often people riding further south, but to my knowledge none
of the folks who have specifically chimed in already....

Nice work everyone! Looks like there'll be a great showing tomorrow. Let's try for a "prompt" 6:30 roll-out (no laughing). If you don't know the route and are running behind schedule, text me so that we don't end up leaving without you: 415-846-3193. Or at least, I'll stick around for you.

+.75 to Google, not 100% sure I can make it. My first sf2g was on Tuesday. Hopefully this time I won't get caught in the muni rails on the way over to Ritual and also will be slightly less slow.

Is that FFFF a Female-only Friday Friendly Frolic, cuz if not I may try to lug my 30-lb.+ steel anchor along Skyline as long as it's NRLB. How do the climbs compare to things like Mt. Tam, White's Hill, the Marshall Wall, Wilson Hill, Tunnel-Grizzly-Pinehurst, blahblahblah? Sadly, I've never ridden Skyline.

The climbs are incomparably easier than Tam, Marshall, Pinehurst (if you climb pinehurst from south to north).  There are absolutely no steep grades.  I never get in the small ring of my triple.  The entire ride is about 2500 ft of elevation spread over almost 50 miles.  There are 3 main rises at the beginning of skyline in which you gain perhaps 800 feet, but they are interspersed with downhills.  After that it is rolling to canada, and then basically flat the rest of the way.  For that beginning part, perhaps you could compare it to Camino Alto, or White's Hill (though less steep than the one or 2 steeper switchbacks on those), or perhaps tunnel rd, though it is shorter than tunnel and involves downhills in between.  If you have ridden any of those other things, you can certainly do skyline on a casual pace day, no problemo!

sleep since and need to be functional.

Have a good ride; it's going to be a beautiful day.
