Registration opens for Gay Games 9
Important: Please note special Gay Games 9 registration offer! 
We are pleassed to announce that registration is now open for Gay Games 9. This is a first phase, with an opportunity to take advantage of early registration prices. Registration for sport and culture events will be rolled out over the coming weeks, with a first set of sports, aquatics, to be open in time for IGLA 2012.
Under the new risk-shariing model, the FGG benefits directly from each registration, and to encourage a strong start, a generous donor has offered a grant that awards the FGG one dollar for each registration through the end of June, for the first 1000 registrations made.
We encourage you to register now to take advantage of lower prices, and to help the FGG reach this goal of 1000 registrations by the end of June.
Bidding open for Gay Games X
Following the end of discussions with GLISA International for bidding for a joint event in 2018, the FGG has launched bidding for Gay Games X. Information on the bidding process can be found at http://2018.gaygames.org. The FGG press release on the end of discussions can be found HERE
"Gay Games: A History" now available in paperback
 Caroline Symons, a winner of the FGG Legacy Award for Scholarship and Research, recently published what may be the definitive history of the Gay Games. The book is now available in paperback, making it much more affordable to ordinary readers.  Member organizations and Gay Games athletes will be participating in this year's World Pride, which will take place this summer in London, just 20 days before the Olympics. If you'll be there, let us know so we can inform you about any activities. Just write londo...@gaygames.org.
 The FGG is working to support member organization Pride Sports to create an alternative to the Pride House project which has been cancelled by its promoter. A smaller event is being planned, offering a place to meet and a program of exhibitions, films, talks and sport. This year we are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Gay Games. Since 1982 there have been eight editions of the Gay Games, events that have changed the lives of tens of thousands of men and women.
We will be marking this event at our annual meeting in Sofia in August, but the main event will take place in Los Angeles in early October. We'll be announcing more details as they become available, but the plan is for a festive weekend of sport, culture, and celebration.
