Subject: Scientific American Mag Cover - The Shocking Colors of Alien Plants
The cover article (nice artwork inside too) of the April issue of
Scientific American Magazine "The Shocking Colors of Alien
Plants"  (the inside article title is The Color of Plants on Other
Worlds) is partly based on the findings of this paper with the title
of

"Spectral signatures of photosynthesis II: coevolution with other
stars and the atmosphere on extrasolar worlds"

which can be found at

http://arxiv.org/abs/astro-ph/0701391

which basically predicts that the colors of photosynthetic plants can
vary from black to red-orange and blue.

Exploring new search spaces, Jason H.
