Subject: Session Tester v0.2 Feedback
Hello all,

I'm taking the liberty of starting a thread to collate feedback pertaining to Session tester v0.2

Thus far I have taken the installer for a brief 15 minute spin.

Basic system specs:
Win2k (Japanese)

Installed with defaults - nothing untoward observed.

Noted that during installation there are no options to:
* create a desktop icon
* create a quicklaunch icon
* launch the app immediately

These may be minor points, and things you would expect a decent tester to be able to work around, but personally I like having a quicklaunch button that I can use for my go-to tool suite. I'm also lazy. Help me out. {emoticon:__jive_emoticon_name=happy}

No option to uninstall in the menu.

Did an uninstall from the control panel - seemed to work.
Ran the installer with default options, ran the installer again immediately after - got the options to repair/uninstall.
That's fine, but honestly, who keeps the installer around after they get the app running? I might keep it if I'm putting it on my mobile test lab thumb drive, but if I want to uninstall the app, rerunning the installer is not the first option that comes to mind.

Installed to a non-default location (c:\blahblahblah) then uninstalled - also seemed to work - application runs.
tried installing to a dir with japanese characters - application runs. Able to uninstall using installer.

That's about all I had time for in the 15 mins I allotted to it. Hopefully that's useful to you in some way.

Thanks Ben, we appreciate it.

Once we have a build of 0.3, you'll be one of the first to know.

Hi

I think the tool to get truly powerful needs better text editing (promised in 0.3) and better overview possibilities in the web reports.
On 0.2 I did a successful install/uninstall on Windows Vista with UAC (User Access Control)
Here are some one-liners bugs/enhancements:

Enhancement: it would be nice to have the Web Report navigation on one page (tree structure)
Enhancement: include 'mission' in the Web Report page, at least at 'day level' (so you can get a picture of what has been tested)
after a restart one tag selection results in two tags added in text area, after two restarts three, etc.
End of Session warning doesn't appear a second time if extending the session
when setting system time back, timer will stop until it's back where you started
click pause, click stop, click start - application starts in pause mode
it is possible to click Extend after the session has ended (nice feature), but after that the clock isn't running, you can't Pause or Stop.
missing Title for About dialog
About dialog stays on top of all applications on Windows
I'm also in the process of writing a bunch of one-liner test ideas, let me know if you want to review them or use them.

Regards,
Rikard
