Subject: SOCC i2U Blog & other news
Hello,
Don't forget to frequently check out the i2U blog at
www.socci2U.blogspot.com to see how you can serve our community. Here are a
few of the current opportunities to serve.
Templeton Free Friday Market
Serve one or more Friday's per month at the Free Friday Market. Each Friday
the Shalom Center offers a Free Friday Market at Templeton Elementary School
to under resourced families in the community. Volunteers are needed to set
up the grocery items, assist shoppers and then clean up. This all happens in
just two hours between 1:00 & 3:00 pm.
Elementary School Volunteers
One hour per week can make a difference to a child. SOCC has volunteers at
Templeton, Fairview, and Summit Elementary Schools to assist in classrooms,
read to children, help with lunch, and supervise recess. There are many
options for days and times. It only takes an hour to show a child that you
care.
CareFest
Mark your calendar for Saturday, November 6 and don't miss CareFest 2010. We
have 15 projects to choose from. Signup begins Sunday, October 17.
