to Sequel Pro
I just setup a MySQL server on OS X Server 10.5 last week. So I'm new
to MySQL. Did git it up and running and working (mostly).

I downloaded Sequel Pro and it works fine.

But my problem/question is, when I use Sequel Pro (on my OS X 10.5
Mac) to connect to my MySQL server on my LAN, I typing in the usual
information on the 'Standard' tab, and click 'Connect'.

The first time I hit connect, and I get the dialog that pops up saying
Sequel Pro can't connect.
So I try again a few seconds later.

The second time I hit connect, I get the dialog that pops up saying
Sequel Pro can't connect.
I try again few seconds later.

The third time in a row, I can connect.

Is there something I can do either on my end or the MySQL server side
to figure out why the first two attempts to connect don't work, but
the 3rd does? I haven't figured out if there is way to to turn on some
sort of connection logging on the MySQL server.

If I quit Sequel Pro and try again, same thing - first two tries at
connecting fail, but the 3rd time works.

Thanks
John

First thing to try would be to open up Console on each machine and see
if any debugging information is being logged there. Don't know if
Sequel Pro does this, but the majority of packages do.
