Surprise Birthday Mail!

Hi, SendSomething-ers!

This is Caramel Porcupine making a special request. I am collecting
birthday wish postcards and letters for my friend, Joel, through
SendSomething. I want to surprise him at the end of August, and need
your help!

I'm contacting you guys through the discussion group, because I am
pretty sure that those of us that are still active will read it. I
also thought this might be a perfect time to offer a revitalization of
the SS community. So here's what I'm thinking:
Contact my email, (melababy@gmail) and let me know what your SS name
is (with updated address!), and I will find you that way. I will send
you two postcard stamps--one to send back to me for Joel, and one to
'pay-it-forward'. I would love for part of the Birthday surprise to be
for Joel to know that for every card that arrives for him means
another in the post for someone else.

US addresses only, please--I'd love to help out overseas, but I just
can't afford to at this time. His birthday is at the end of August, so
you have plenty of time to send back. I have no idea how many
responses I will get, but if the stamp-line gets backed up, just wait
for my update that they are on their way! :) You can also contact me
with any questions.

Hi Caramel,

I think it's a noble idea (what you're trying to do), and I will
gladly send a postcard - no stamps needed. However. I will send the
card TO YOU - with a "Happy Birthday [insert name here}" salutation on
the back and have YOU forward the postcard to your friend (IT IS
postcards you want, correct?) It can get complicated if someone gets
cards in the mail they do NOT wish to receive, or have family who
objects to what is going on - and I speak from a previous experience
here.
I hope this works out to everyone's satisfaction.

Hi Vianna,

Thank you for helping. :) I have kept this in mind. The address that I
have on my SS account is my own address; I plan to give him all of the
cards at once on my own, so he won't be receiving them directly (I
could just imagine how bizarre that would be for him). Anybody is
welcome to send them to my address listed. Postcards or cards; any
kind of birthday message will be appreciated! I have more info on my
SS page, just do a search for Caramel Porcupine!
Also--big thank you to those of you that have already contacted me by
email. The stamps are in the post, and my own personal messages to
follow. :D

Hi,

I think that is a great idea for Joel, count me in :-)  No stamps necessary.  That is a nice offer though!!!!  

I hope you don't mind if I ask you a question.  I am new to the group and I was wondering if I just pick someone and send something, or do I ask that person if they would like to swap things, could you please advise and thank you very much!!!!!!! :-)

You can do a search for whatever interests you and mail people who have similar interests, or you can hit the Random Address button and see who you get!  However you want to handle it is fine. :)
