Checking if file is in buffer
Is there a way to check if a given file is already in a buffer? I have a macro that calls an external procedure to create a new version of a file. The macro then edits the new file and reformats it a bit. If the old version of the file is already open when the macro is executed, it fails to use the newly created... more »

tv tuners in computers
Just what can you do with a tb tuner in a computer? I notice that the xps has one. Also, is 'touch-screen' really practical on a desktop? Seems like the arms would get really, really tired. :) What has this to do with TSE? Well, several have posted various kinds of 'access' to odd things using TSE, so one can wonder if either a tv tuner or... more »

Howard's comments give me confidence that I can handle windows 8... ...but, is TSEPRO okay with the 64-bit version of windows 8? By the way, whatever happened to BeOS? Wasn't it supposed to take over the OS world? Remember Andre LaPorte really pushing it back a ways (whatever happened to him?).... more »

windows 8 replies
Thanks, guys. Lost of useful information and referrals in there. Noticed that windows 8 supports touch screens on desktops on hp and toshiba machines. Wondering if anyone has used it that way and if it is a good alternative to the mouse?

windows 8
Okay, I have seen nothing but complaints and negative reviews about Windows 8. I have even heard that it may be recalled... My Vista computer has been giving me fits lately. It is almost 5 years old, so I am considering a new one. Trouble it, do I want Windows 8? You can still buy new computers that have Windows 7 on them and likely the... more »

Smarter breaking of excessively long lines
html files , particularly those generated by software can have very long lines. I've been playing such a file that is 29 Mbytes in length and had numerous lines that exceeded the 32000 byte limit that this version of TSE seems to have (TSE - Linux v4.40.79 ) BTW the TSE help says under ..."Edit lines up to 16,000 characters in length"... more »
