Subject: Selenium proposal merged into Software Quality Assurance & Testing - Area 51 - Stack Exchange
To: bara...@gmail.com

Hello,

We're writing because you committed to the Area 51 proposal Selenium.

We believe this proposal, as stated, is a subset of another proposal per the following guidelines:

  1. Almost all X questions are on-topic for site Y
  2. If Y already exists, it already has a tag for X, and nobody is complaining
  3. You’re not creating such a big group that you don’t have enough experts to answer all possible questions
  4. There’s a high probability that users of site Y would enjoy seeing the occasional question about X

For more background, read merging season.

After some community discussion on Area 51, we have elected to merge this proposal with another Area 51 Proposal, Software Quality Assurance & Testing.

Your commitment has been transferred to Software Quality Assurance & Testing, in the hopes that a slightly broader site proposal will have a better chance of succeeding. We hope that you will continue to support the merged proposals.

As always, thank you for participating on Area 51!

Yours,

The Stack Exchange Team

I think we're probably too small for them. I uncommitted the SQA site
too. Seems like you can uncommit the SQA site and not the selenium
proposal, although the selenium proposal is "merged".

I think it's best if someone would talk to Jeff Atwood, maybe he
doesn't understand how most people committed to the selenium proposal
feel about this merge. The selenium proposal is in state closed and
it's probably best to reopen it if that would somehow be possible.

Or did he understand and went for the merge anyway?

I've uncommitted. It's amazing to see people with limited mind that
doesn't understand why we don't want this f**king merge.

Not sure how far it will get, but I've started a new proposal for
Browser Automation: http://area51.stackexchange.com/proposals/31757/browser-automation

Please help by suggesting and voting for on/off topic questions. It
may help to mention various browser automation tools in the suggested
questions, and would also be great if we could use these suggested
questions to demonstrate how the topic is not limited to testing/QA.

Thanks,
Dave
