Hi all,

I brought back a pair of home audio speakers from my parents' over the weekend. They are very low quality and sound pretty muddy. It has two 7.25" ported woofers and a 2" tweeter at the top with an internal crossover.

Does anyone know where I can buy high quality 7.25" drivers? I swear up and down that's the size of the hole, but the only 7.25" speakers I can find with a brief Google search are for Harley-Davidson motorcycles...???

Thanks,
Dougal

How are you measuring them? So-called "eight-inch" woofers can have cones from 7-8" in diameter.

It's also worth noting that almost no woofer is a direct swap for any other woofer, even of similar size; you're generally better off starting from scratch.

If you'd like to muck about, I have an awful lot of spares, and I need to cut down. Yours for the asking.
