My car has recently started making some unpleasant noises. In addition to the slow CV joint failure I've been experiencing since I bought it, I now have a faint but persistent engine whine. I only need the car to last for another ~8,000 miles / 24 months at which point I'll cheerfully sell it for parts, but I'm not sure what to until then. Can anyone suggest an inexpensive shop for an inspection that'll tell me what's about to explode? (Submitting yourself with a cash bid is entirely acceptable.) Also, where's the best place around here to get CVs done cheaply? (ditto.)
