Interning and Volunteering with the Just Garden Project

The Just Garden Project (JGP) is going into our second year! The JGP mission is to build a just food system and a culture of gardening for all people. We do this by building subsidized gardens for low income families in their homes, mentoring and educating new gardeners,engaging youth and celebrating gardening in our community. In just two years we have built over 40 gardens and fed over 1,000 people. 2012 will be our biggest year yet.
We are excited to offer many volunteer and intern opportunities. Some internship commitments range from 5 hours/week to 20 hours/week. Check them out here and at www.justgarden.org
Our main volunteer opportunities are:
Building gardens (Full or half day commitment: Saturdays March 3-May 12)
Mentoring gardeners (6 month commitment and relationship building see attached mentor sheet)
Tabling events (2-5 hour commitment at special events and outreach opportunities)
Event Support (Get in on our event action, help prepare/serve food, set up, clean up, and more)
