Also...   I just got a letter from Mitsubishi, telling me that they have
discovered problems with some
Clipper Creek EVSE units, and the software in the MiEV.   And that you
may want to NOT use them till a
software upgrade comes out this coming January 2013.

It goes on to say...

If you have any questions regarding this letter, please contact us:

Really? Quit using your car for two months? That is as fast as they can act to prevent a
possible wholesale customer stampede away from their product? Whatever will the foxes say?

Ah well, the same thing could have happened to Buick (do Buicks even exist any more, even as
a six square inch pot metal badge?). However the media will not report this as only one of many
failures of technology too complex for humans to completely understand without giving it a try
(gee, didn't think of THAT), as a problem of controls rather than the platform the controls were
supposed to control, but rather as proof certain that the platform et al was a flawed concept.

I didn't have a chance to comment on the Fisker fire posts when they popped up. I had hoped
there was no similarity with the fire in Thomas Edisons lab in, what was it, 1913? But no,
Christian Science Monitor had this when I went looking: "A fire that destroyed 16 Fisker Karmas
in the wake of Hurricane Sandy was caused by residual salt damage inside a Vehicle Control
Unit submerged in seawater for several hours, according to Fisker Automotive." Whether that
conclusion will prevail against subsequent large figure lawsuits that are as certain as tomorow's
dawn remains to be seen.

The fix for this is not yet available and looks like they're going to miss
the window for January 2013. I spoke with their customer relations
department this morning and that was the word.
