Scenario One: Striking and Killing Saddam's Republican Guard
============================================================
* Problem-situation: In the Gulf War, the United Nations
(including the US and Britain) failed to finish a job well
started.
The correct course is to proceed to _liberate_ Iraq, which is the
original location of Paradise.. DeNazify the place (Saddam's
Ba'ath Party represents a virulent Pan-Arabic National Racism,
with his Republican Guard as the basis for omnipresent State
power); install free institutions and the framework for
rights-based representative democratic government; ensure free
elections are held; and leave, with an independent Iraq as an
ally instead of an enemy. This is how we handled WWII Germany.
Unfortunately, all too many US politicians aren't really all
that interested in human rights; free institutions; rights-based
representative governmment; even within America itself... or
intelligent and principled foreign policy, for that matter.
So here we are again:

Here's one Scenario for a devastating attack on Saddam's power:
* First: A last-minute back-channels offer to Saddam, offering to
help hunt down and destroy all those adults who brutalized,
tortured and tormented him as a child -- this, in return for his
resignation, the liquidation of the Republican Guard, and the
liberalization of Iraq. Saddam's early experiences of violence
are the root of his violent and offensive behaviour.
* Second: Psychological Warfare (PSYOPS): Iraqui-language broadcasts
implore the iraqui people to overthrow Saddam and his Republican
Guard. Massive small-arms and anti-tank weapons air-drops into
Iraq accompany this message as a show of international support
to the oppressed Iraqui people. There are at least fifteen
million small arms (rifles, pistols, submachinegunes, medium
machineguns, anti-armor Rocket Propelled Grenades) available
cheaply on the world markets right now -- one for every Iraqui
man, woman and child.
This is what Frank Wisner, CIA's Deputy Director, Plans, wanted
to do for the Hungarian people in their 1956 Revolution in 1956.
Eisenhower blocked the action; Frank Wisner sank into depression
and shot himself. Let's not make that mistake again.
INITIATING THE COUNTDOWNS

D-Day: Massive simultaneous Blitzkrieg night attacks on
Saddam's military assets are launched by by American
carrier-based F-18s; F-117 Nighthawks and Tomahawk Cruise
Missiles aimed at Priority One targets: chemical and biologiocal
weapons plants, 'presidential palace' sites; Republican Guard
barracks, command centres and residences. RAF Tornados with
laser-guided 1 000 lb. bombs take out all Iraqui airfields and
air power assets wheresoever based. _All_ Iraqui bunkers are
hit with 5 000 lb 'deep-penetration' bombs with delayed fusing,
with advance warning broadcast to civilians to get the hell out.
They choose to remain, that's _their_ decision. These words of
Iman Ali Hussein, who lost four relatives in the Amiriyah bunker
raid, are apposite:
"I cannot imagine any Iraqui will enter a shelter again ...
It's better for them to die in their homes."
Then FAEs (Fuel-Air Explosives, as deadly as 'clean'
micro-nukes) are used to generate massive blast over-pressure
and intense Electro-Magnetic Pulse over Iraqui military and
governmental installations.
Tactical intelligence on the possible whereabouts of Saddam
and/or his Reopublican Guard and their equipment is passed to
conventionally-armed Pershing-2 missiles for prompt hard-target
kill strikes. Sudden death arrives vertically down out of a
clear blue sky. Most of Saddam's Russian military kit has
embedded maser upinks concealed, which helpfully provide
location data. We simply _buy_ the data from our Russian
friends... >:-}
D+1: As the relentless and progressive destruction of the
Republican Guard's military assets proceeds, battle damage
assessments by the RAF (using TIALD -- Thermal Imaging and Laser
Designation) and satellite Overhead Reconnaissance is passed to
JARIC -- Joint Air Reconnaissance Intelligence Centre.
D+2: F-117 Stealth Nighthawks and GR7 Harriers bombard priority
Two targets. These include administrative and research centres
involved in weapons production. Prison walls aere breached.
D+3: Battle Damage Assessment and incremental insertion of
Special Forces for Insurgency support and installation of Rebel
Infrastructure.

NOTE WELL: There will be Allied losses. Men and women will die
in the Gulf. These losses will ineluctably be higher than they
should have been, in small part because Yours Truly, Tony
Hollick, inter alia an Occasional Advisor to NATO's Technical
Directorate, has for the past six months had to fight off
horrifying attacks on Americans and the US Constitution from
Norm Maleng ('R') and his Chief of Staff Dan Satterberg, the
vicious 'Republican Guard' of the Washington State Republican
Party core clique, who also effectively 'run interference' for
Saddam Hussain by viciously attacking innocent female
schoolteachers like Mary Kay Schmitz LeTourneau, insted of
serving their country and upholding its Constitution.
Their names will live in the annals of _infamy_.
This is yet another _real price_ to the American people of the
malevolent antics of Maleng and Satterberg and their Coercive
Authoritarian cronies.
The choice for Americans is quite clear:
[A] Coercive Authoritarianism, with the whole country being turned
into a ghastly prison camp like Iraq; OR:
[B] "Couldn't care...": OR:
[C] A free and democratic American Republic with individual
freedoms; limited government; a genuine free market which works
for _everyone_; and a strong national defense which is crucially
based on citizens of intransigent and unbroken will. This is
what English political philosopher John Locke, and British and
American Revolutionaries fought for two hundred years ago, for
Americans by choice and by birth to enjoy in perpetuity.
I made my own choice a long time ago.
