Software Test Engineer (STE): contract in Redmond
SIQCDP
We are in need of highly capable white-box Testers that have experience
with Agile/Scrum project methodologies. This is an excellent long term
vendor opportunity in Redmond working with a growing team.
Responsibilities
Under direction of a Test Lead, own creation and execution of the Test
Plan for one/more components of the core architecture. These components
each perform a very specific function and are written in C using custom
protocols to communicate with a control infrastructure. A custom queuing
system provides the input/output mechanism for each component.
Qualifications
* 3+ years industry experience in software testing, including:
* Initial creation of test plans and related test cases
* Solid understanding of various testing methodologies
* Extensive white-box testing experience
* Experience with Agile/Scrum project methodologies
* Ability to read/understand C and C#
* Experience in a structured environment with well established
processes/standards
* Thorough understanding of TCP/IP & Windows networking protocols
* Good communication skills and ability to work closely with other
functional roles
* Good prioritization skills while problem solving and generating test
cases
* Passion to drive quality
* Proactive and self-motivated
Bonus Skills
* Experience with Team Foundation Server for maintaining test cases and
reporting bugs
* Experience testing at the API level
* Experience working with complex loosely coupled applications using
message passing techniques
* Experience with Information Retrieval systems
