Responsibilities:
The Technical Writer/Documentation Infrastructure Architect will be asked
to do each of the following:
* Write high-quality, task-based online help and user training materials
for Serena Software’s application lifecycle management products
* Analyze user stories and interview relevant team members
* Understand user requirements and develop document designs and strategies
to match these requirements
* Design and build innovative information delivery systems for Serena Web
clients
* Implement online help and user support systems using technologies such
as XML, XSLT, and Visual Basic
* Participate in long-term projects focused on improving documentation and
user training processes and integrating into the product development
process
* Participate in peer reviews
* Be an effective and proactive member of a dynamic technical publication
team
* Work independently and collaboratively
Qualifications:
* 2+ years software technical writing experience
* Experience developing user stories and requirements into clear,
well-written, task-oriented print and online documentation
* Ability to test accuracy of documentation by setting up and running
complex software products
* 2+ years documentation infrastructure development experience using
technologies including XML, XSLT, Visual Basic, and .NET
* Familiarity with modern programming environments such as Visual Basic,
Visual C++, Visual Age Java, or Websphere Application Developer
* Experience with one or more databases desirable
* Familiarity with client/server, web services (SOA), web concepts and
nomenclature desirable
* Familiarity with XML publishing tools like XMetal, Agile methodology and
creating online tutorials, a plus

Education:
* Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Technical Writing, Computer
Science, Engineering or other relevant degrees, or the equivalent in
experience and education
