Adultosaurus -- A New Land Of Giants

When times are good, nature tends toward gigantacism.
The Tyrannosaurus Rex of the Jurassic.
The Great Irish Elk before the last Ice Age.
And now: Adultosaurus.
With longer life spans, Human adults are now taking up more
space, using more resources and being more annoying than ever.
These fools buy big sports cars, wear baggy pants and generally
take up way more media time than anyone would care to mention.
Cases in point:
Adultosaurus Entertainus: Jack Nicholson. This fool just will
not leave. He treats us to his own ego satisfying movies every
three years just to keep his 'womanizing' image alive. Die, Jack,
Die!
Adultosaurus Technologus: Bill Gates. 25 years and still gnawing at
every other carnivore it can, Adultosaurus Technologus embodies all the
'whoever dies with the most toys wins' attitude of the early
1980's yuppie. Will this baggage ever dissolve? Doubtful, it is
simply best to stay out of the way of it's foot prints.
and so it goes, add your own spotting of Adultosaurus and see if
we can build a catalog.
Or, perhaps, soon, that meteor will hit and rid us all of adultosaurus and
let a few new faces take the stage. doubtful. but we can hope.

Gigantism ?
The biomass of humans is dwarfed by the biomass of ants ,
and the biomass of ants is , in turn ,
dwarfed by the biomass of plankton .
And plankton do all this
without the benefit of any high energy physics .
Greenspan's long-term mandate is to raise the GDP ,
to raise the consumption rate ,
it's a kind of " Unprincipled sexual determinism " ,
as per the Malthus doctrine .
But Greenspan can't tell you _ Why _ this is his mandate .
Basically , everything just grows exactly
as far as _ Nature _ allows , like puppets on a string .
