Stella's Trattoria in the U-district: Good stuff in the italian vein.

13 Coins downtown: Pricey but quite good. Steak Sinatra highly
recommended.

Mmm, waffle house... IHOP and Denny's just don't compare.

not that I claim to be any expert, but I kinda like these:

Cafe Minnie's -- on Broadway in Capitol Hill... basic American food, but
good and fairly reasonable 24 hrs

Cafe Paradisio -- mainly a coffee shop, open 'til 4 a.m. on weekends, but
they do have light food as well. At 1005 E. Pike

Sea Garden, cantonese food in the International District, 509 7th Ave. S
2 a.m. M-F, 3 a.m. wknd

Steve's Broiler, 1937 4th Ave. Downtown -- never been but I've heard the
late nite fish & omlets are good. 24 hrs.

Beth's on Aurora. Not too pricey, but if you're bothered by smoke, don't go.
I like greasy hash browns, which is what I always get at about 3 am.

The Hurricane Cafe downtown. Owned by the same people as Beth's, but a
slightly better environment. It needs some drawings on the walls. I recommend
hash browns with onions, cheddar cheese, and ham. *yum*

And on a related not (sort of), where do _you_ go for hash browns? I've been
looking for the Perfect Hashbrown since my visit to NC, and I haven't found
anything yet in Seattle that beats a Waffle House order of browns. Beth's
and the Hurricane come close, but not quite...

-Josh ('course, those WH browns were eaten when I had extreme munchies.

Yes -- Beth's isa fun place. Generous portions, inexpensive, and has
an atmosphere.

I've found no place in the Seattle area that can match The Awful House
hash browns. (I prefer them scattered, smothered, and covered).

Does anyone know any place in this area that serves good grits?

They are quite good.

Guess what--they've opened a second location, on Cap. Hill. It's right on
Broadway, where Cafe Cielo used to be.

There is also a Cafe Minnie's on Broadway...same block as the Deluxe
II...in the old Boondocker's/Cafe Cielo space. Same ownership as the
Denny store.
