Okay it's not Seattle but close. There is a new restaurant going in next to
Red Robin. The place used to be owned by Wayne Cody but I can't remember
the name. It's now a yellow and black building but they have a fence up so
I can't get to it to see if there is a sign. I believe it is a chain place.
My parents told me the name of the place but they are elderly and forget
things. Now they have forgotten what place it is although they do remember
telling me. I have no excuse. I just forgot. Anyone know the name?

Isn't that the Canadian donut place?

I'm pretty sure it's not one of those. I looked at a pic of one and it
doesn't look anything like this. I can't even remember what the names of
the restaurant used to be. It was once owned by Wayne Cody. One place had
a train that went around up high. Another place...or maybe it was the same
place had Snow White and the 7 dwarfs in it.

It is a chain.

Snack food. Crunchy, fatty, spicy. Think: "chick-charones".

I like chicken wings, and often make them as party food. Maybe because
I spent a good part of my life in upstate NY, made occasional visits to
friends in Buffalo, and pilgrimages to the Anchor Bar, where chicken
wings were invented.

Poor chickens. What did they do before that? Prosthetics?

(I grew up in Buffalo and also was taken to the AB from time to time; they
were okay, but nothing remarkable. I don't understand the immense
popularity of the restaurant "chicken wing" either.)

Yeah, me either. I've never understood what the fascination is with
chicken wings. Concentrating on legs I could see, but why wings? That's
the part of the bird I usually either throw away or boil down for
stock/broth, along with the rest of the carcass following a good roast!

Hardly any meat on those things; you're just paying mostly for skin and
bones.

Chicken wings are the source of the great Korean wings. You want to make
stock, throw in the backs and necks. Don't waste good chicken wings for
stock.

Down south, yellow and black decor denotes a Waffle House. I don't
think any of those have migrated north of the Mason-Dixon Line or west
of Arkansas.

It's a Buffalo Wild Wings, based out of Minnesota I think. Looks like
another place that will serve pre-made frozen stuff. Their menu is pretty
simple.

Never seen a Waffle House but I have heard of them.

Doesn't look like they'll be any challenge for Wing Dome (never much
cared for the food, but loved the retro name).
