Thanks to those that emailed me with responses to helping me rip.
There was one program I neglected to utilized. It's called ffmpegx and
works like a charm. It's on a MAC platform.
The pass of ripping and ingesting didn't work since they failed QC and
I didn't realize the artifacts were present when I ripped them.
So I had to go back and verify the rip. The disc IS copy protected in
some strange way but then all EMI content usually is copy protected.
Not sure if anyone realized how bad the videos were mastered along
with the audio. There are some dropouts and artifacts in the audio as
well as in the video. So now I have to go in and FIX everyone video
and remaster the audio. So looks like we will have superior versions
of the videos than what EMI has. Of course the only problem is the
titling of each video but then the only way to get it without is by
utilizing the master source.
From what we have been receiving from record labels, their source can
be very poor. Shows you how much music video history is being lost.
It's a shame too since so much speaks about certain eras. I wish I
could get a hold of all the remaining Church video to digitize and
archive.
Oh well, at least these videos will be archived.
