Subject: [sdrando] Nice ride with tailwinds too!

Nice day for a ride, with tailwinds pushing up the coast and on both Bike Paths! We hooked up with several racer groups through San Clemente and the campground on the way south. Took some stretched out breaks, but who cares? Group of Keith Olsen, Tim Knowles, Ed Shepherd, Bill Stevenson and myself splintered near the last climb up Champagne Blvd.
Saw 2 auto accidents up close and nearly personal @ Las Pulgas and Quince St in Escondido near the finish.

Great day for all and thanks to the riders who had fun.

I'll keep you company up to Santa Ysabel. Saturday or Sunday work for me, if I had to choose I'll pick the coolest day.

Looking at the weather forecast it looks nearly the same both days. Due to the fact that I have a ways to drive to the start, I am not sure if I can depart earlier than 7 AM. Would Saturday at 7 AM work for you? Are you familiar with the route? I have done most of in bits. I will register with John beforehand so I get credit for the 400k. Perhaps there will be others interested. Gary

Saturday not too early is perfect. I'll join you at the first control which will allow me to start from home and skip the car ride. It's at mile 14.2 so I'll be there at 7:45AM, unless you plan on starting really fast.

I have never ridden this particular permanent but like you I have done bits and pieces before.
