Greg - I recently started an organization that works with recovering addicts
and alcoholics, [link] We have a re-cycle a bike
program where we utilize all the dontations we can for the foundation
and those we can't use are sold to raise funds.
I'm not sure of any organizations here locally.

Does anyone know of a bike shops that takes old bike parts and donates
them to needy kids, as opposed to just reselling them?

I have a bunch of saddles, seat post, chain rings, seat post bags,
handlebars, etc. that represent failed experiments in comfort or
convenience, but might be helpful for someone else to have.

First of all, I hope you are okay!
My vote is for B - I get more frustrated with cyclists who should know better (a group of 4 roadies) than people riding a bike that need to be educated.
I ride 70+ miles almost every Saturday, and usually spend some time on PCH. I almost always see someone who is fast, and with good bike skills do something really dumb that endagers him and or his group. And we wonder why drivers hate us.

Bass Lake Double With Less Climbing

Hi,

The Bass Lake Powerhouse Double has been rerouted in 2007 and 2008 resulting
in less climbing. The elevation gain will be 11,700 Feet of Climbing or
about 3,000 less feet of climbing than in 2005 and 2006.

The Fresno Club has done a super job of supporting this Double and I highly

Oct 4 is the last SDR ride of the year. It starts at Pioneer Park in
Mission Hills, goes up the coast to Carlsbad, turns right to go inland
to Escondido, back to the Solana Beach via Del Dios Road, then back to
Pioneer Park.

A few riders have suggested taking another road up to the park,
instead of Juan Street. So the route uses a path that's a little
