Hello all,
My name is Aaron I live in the great land locked state of Colorado. I
found out we do have the most divers per cap. in the country. I thought
that was kind of interesting when I moved here. I learned to dive in
Honolulu Hi. when I was 16, I'm now 32. I have my advanced
certification and have dove in Cozumel, Bahamas, U.S Virgin Islands and
of course Hawaii. My dream dive is to go to Coco Island and dive with
the Hammerheads.
Right now I'm thinking about trying a live aboard called
Blackbeard's.

Has anyone been on this cruise or heard anything about it?

Hey Aaron,

I've done Blackbeards 3 times. It's a great bargain! The food is
good, the crew is usually great. Not much privacy though. It's kind
of like camping at sea. If you just want to dive and don't care about
a bunch of fancy amenities then by all means do it. Depending on the
time of year you go the crossing from Miami to the Bahamas can be a
little rough. Two times I went the end of December and it was rough.
It kind of felt like the perfect storm. People getting sick, getting
tossed around, etc. One time though I went in June and it was a very
relaxing crossing. To sum it up, it's a great trip. There is plenty
of food and drink. They do a lot of diving and sometimes throw in some
spearfishing. They usually spend an evening in Bimini which is kind of
fun as well. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other
questions.

Happy Diving,
Stephen

Hello Stephen,

Thank you for all the great information.
Was the diving better or worse in June vs December? What about comfort
as far as the June summer heat and the cool December days? How cool was
the shark dive?

I would say - it really depends on the hurricanes. This year seems to
be off to an interesting start. Also, I would say off season would be
something to consider. What do others think about this? Good Luck.
